Elevating voices of color in test prep
Updated: Apr 10

At Bridges to Readiness, we believe in the power of representation and the importance of amplifying diverse voices in our test prep materials. Our program's curriculum incorporates historical texts authored by writers of color, offering students a unique opportunity to connect with a wide range of perspectives and experiences. By doing so, we aim to empower students and foster a deeper appreciation for the rich tapestry of ideas and stories that shape our world.
Our test prep materials feature a variety of writers of color spanning various fields, from civil rights activism and African-American studies to cutting-edge scientific research in cosmology and computational biology. Bridges to Readiness has been building out our Knowledge-Building Reading curriculum to include texts by Black authors about physics, economics, history, and sociology. The inclusion of voices of color in our curriculum directly aligns with Bridges to Readiness' mission to unlock an unlimited future for all students. By celebrating diversity and fostering an inclusive learning environment, we empower our students to embrace their unique identities and develop a profound sense of belonging.
Our commitment to representation also reflects our core values, which emphasize the importance of equity, access, and opportunity for all.
